Eurodam Arrives at Hamburg

We arrived at Hamburg today shortly after 1 p.m. and were greeted with local music and sunny weather!

With the celebrations underway, the Tamarind bartender has been mixing up the Asian-inspired cocktails that are exclusive to the venue.

Clockwise starting at top: Ek-Te-Cooler, Samurai Mojito, Bonsai and Pink Coral

BONSAI
1 oz Absolut Citron
0.5 oz Abolut Vanilla
Dash triple sec
2 oz orange juice
Garnish with slice of orange

EK-TE-COOLER
Martini glass
1 oz Absolut Citron
0.5 oz Midori
1 oz pineapple juice
0.5 oz sour mix
Garnish with pineapple leaf

SAMURAI MOJITO
Pint glass
2 lime wedges
2 oz of Momokawa Silver Sake
1 oz Monin Mojito Mint Syrup
2 oz club soda or Sprite
1 large handful of fresh mint
Hand press lime wedges & mint with muddler then add Monin Syrup and sake

PINK CORAL
Martini glass
1.5 oz Grey Goose
0.5 oz Grand Marnier
1 oz cranberry juice
0.5 oz sour mix
Garnish grenadine sugar rim

Meet Eurodam’s Handymen

Pam went behind the scenes to take photos of crew members who are rarely seen by guests, but very important to the ship’s operation. Over the next few days we’ll introduce you to these important people.

Today, meet Eurodam’s carpenters, upholsters and locksmiths. These guys are the ones who mend the furnishings around the ship, repair broken furniture and fix the locks — plus so much more.

Ocean Images is the photography concessionaire on all Holland America Line ships, and Tim Boon is manager of Ocean Images’ operation on Eurodam. Paul Lasley spoke to Tim about the important role Ocean Images plays in making sure guests capture their cruise vacation memories.

Blog Correspondent Pam took the day off yesterday from blogging to fulfill her duties as the captain’s wife, but she was back at it today, taking photos as the ship left Rotterdam for Hamburg.

Eurodam Departs on Prelude Cruise Today

Andy Newman was pierside as Eurodam departed for a short prelude cruise to Hamburg, Germany, and then on to Copenhagen, Denmark. The ship’s 10-day maiden voyage sets sail July 5 bound for the Baltic and British Isles.
