Ben van Zeijl has been one of our most loyal readers. He has sent us video, corrected us when we made mistakes and e-mailed essays on other ships that we didn’t publish, though we did read them. Following inaugural events in Rotterdam, Ben sent us this appreciation:

Thank you so much for the four wonderful Eurodam days in Rotterdam.

Thanks for the warm hospitality aboard the Eurodam on Monday June 30 and Tuesday July 1. We attended both days and were very honored to be part of this Dutch maritime event of the year.

Eurodam is a beautiful and wonderful vessel, and I’m proud that she’s a true Dutch Queen of the Oceans. I wish the Eurodam and her captain, his crew and all who are sailing with her Bon Voyage!

In honor of you all, and especially the Eurodam News Blog members, I have created a new Web page on my site. It is named ms Eurodam, and has many pictures and specially made video’s.

I hope you all will enjoy this special page for a special LADY.

Hello,

I have been following the progress of the building of the Eurodam with utter fascination! I never realized the intricacies involved in ship building and must admit, that I took for granted the talent and dedication that is involved with the creation of such a beautiful masterpiece. I sailed with Holland America Line for almost 10 years as a member of the Cast (Anita Mann Productions) and have many wonderful, exciting, out-of-this-world memories of my time on-board. I loved it so much that I put up with the seasickness! My husband, Remco Buis and I met on the Rotterdam IV and both have such great memories to last us a lifetime. Needless to say, I am so very excited to think that I may experience the Eurodam in all her glory in the near future.
