I was not a participant of an Eurodam cruise, I saw your impressive ship during your stay in Warnemünde 2008-08-12.
I took some photos and created an photo album, which you may find under the following link.

On Deck for the Cure
Pam | August 15, 2008 at 1:33 pm | In Around the Ship, Latest News, Photos, Video | No CommentsHolland America Line began On Deck for the Cure in 2006 in support of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and breast cancer research. Since its inception, the program has raised nearly $1.1 million.

Participants pledge $15 or more, then simply put their sea legs to good use and walk around the ship’s deck for five kilometers. Each participant receives an On Deck for the Cure T-shirt and pink wristband, as well as an invitation to a pink lemonade party following the walk.

Cruise Director Shane high-fives a guest during the walk. Holland America estimates that more than 80,000 guests have participated in more than 1,000 walks on Holland America Line cruises worldwide since the program began.

Cruise Director Shane and event staffer Kate keep guests up to date on the number of laps they have completed. Depending on the ship, guests walk up to 12 laps to reach 5k.

First-Call Port Plaques
Julie | August 13, 2008 at 11:02 am | In Deployment, Inaugural, Latest News | 1 CommentWhen a ship calls at a port for the first time, it is presented with a commemorative plaque from that port. On Eurodam, all of the plaques are proudly displayed on Deck 10 midship.

The wall will become more decorated as the collection of plaques grows rapidly during the ship’s first year in service.

Video: The View Astern
Roland | August 13, 2008 at 10:56 am | In Latest News, Technical, Video | 1 CommentPam shot this interesting video from Eurodam’s stern as the ship was sailing from Warnemunde, Germany, to Arhus, Denmark, at a speed of 13 knots. Note that the wake shows the characteristic twin spiral patterns made by the ship’s Azipod podded propulsion units.
Postcards from Warnemunde (Berlin)
Julie | August 12, 2008 at 11:04 am | In Photos, Postcards From... | No CommentsEurodam called at Warnemunde, Germany today. Warnemunde is the port for Berlin, and guests were able to visit some historic sites. Thanks to Pam’s father, Joseph Kern, for sending in his photos.

Checkpoint Charlie was the name given by the Western Allies to a crossing point between East Berlin and West Berlin during the Cold War. This point is located at the junction of Friedrichstraße with Zimmerstraße and Mauerstraße (which coincidentally means ‘Wall Street’).

The Brandenburg Gate is a former city gate and one of the main symbols of Berlin. It is the only remaining gate of a series through which one formerly entered Berlin. The gate is the monumental entry to Unter den Linden, the renowned boulevard of linden trees that formerly led directly to the city palace of the Prussian monarchs. It was commissioned by Friedrich Wilhelm II as a sign of peace and built by Carl Gotthard Langhans from 1788 to 1791.
Postcards from Stockholm
Julie | August 11, 2008 at 1:13 pm | In Latest News, Postcards From... | No CommentsEurodam called at Stockholm, Sweden, this past Sunday. Here are some photos from one of the most beautiful ports in the world.

This photo was taken on the bridge going to Skeppsholmen.

The Grand Hotel was opened in 1874, and its Grand Ballroom has an exact copy of the Louis XIV’s Hall of Mirrors that is in Versailles.

The Nobel Museum houses presentations of more than 30 Laureates and their creative work, as well as a number of milieus that inspired creativity. The exhibition also gives an account of past Nobel Prizes, and well-known Nobel Prizes are discussed against a background of historic events.

The Stockholm Palace is the official residence and of the Swedish monarch. (The private residence of the royal family is Drottningholm Palace.) The personal offices of the monarch and the other members of the Swedish royal family, as well as the administrative offices of the Royal Court of Sweden, are located here.
Postcards from a Eurodam Guest
Julie | August 11, 2008 at 11:16 am | In Photos, Postcards From... | No CommentsJoan and John Mathers just returned from a 20-day cruise aboard Eurodam, and they were kind enough to send in some gorgeous photos that they took along the way.

The ship sails along the Sognefjord in Norway when calling at Vik and Flam.

Urquhart Castle is situated on Loch Ness in Scotland and can be visited from the port of Invergordon.

The colorful waterfront in Copenhagen always makes a nice photo.
