That comment by PeterandDi does not bode well for the service to an otherwise expensive suite. I hope it was a mistake. HA should pay special attention to that comment. Should they not they will hear from me I paid $$$$$ for a special cruise. I have travelled on sister lines and was told that HA does not provide upgrades on suites, as the always sell out.

The verandah is small, just enough space to stand and watch the world go by. No cover so exposed to the elements. The cabin is about the same size as previously experienced on HAL ships, the extras are a bit naff, a Burmese teak mat for bath and shower (read wooden bath mat), and an invigorating showerhead, as well as a loofah mitt ($2 from Wallmart). In addition to standard stateroom furnishings, spa staterooms also include an iPod docking station (takes up valuable space for those without iPods), specialty waters (4 bottles of flavoured water - not replaced when used), a cut-fruit tray at embarkation (two thin slices of Melon, 2 small slices of Orange, 3 Blueberries, 1 sliced Strawberry) and a spa concierge to book (expensive) treatments.

Found this in the blog, sounds cosy!

Eurodam will be the first ship in the Holland America Line fleet to feature cabins with curved verandahs. The new verandahs measure 42 inches at the widest point and are large enough to comfortably fit a small table and chairs. The 10 cabins with the curved verandahs are located on Deck 11 and similar in size to a deluxe verandah cabin.

we have reserved one of the two superior V suites on the panorama deck. In looking at the deck plans it apears they have "ocean view" windows and a balcony, is this true.

thank you

Like SteveinSF, I am booked on the observation deck in a spa stateroom. I found out the scalloped balconies in those staterooms are much smaller and don't have chairs, as you only have room to stand. Does anyone know how much smaller they are?

My wife & I have our first Eurodam cruise scheduled for October from Quebec City to Ft. Lauderdale. Like For SteveinSF, we too were very pleasantly surprised by the designation of our stateroom category as a Spa Stateroom, and now we even more can't wait to experience it. This upcoming one will be our 4th cruise, all on HAL, since our first one in 2006. We think SteveinSF has the right expectation that you won't want to cruise with anyone else.

I've been giddy with excitement watching this ship being built, and now we get an actual rendering of the stateroom class I've got booked for my first-ever cruise next year. I'm beginning to think HAL will have me completely spoiled and I'll never want to try another line.

Now if you could just wander by stateroom 11008 and get a real photo or two...

Are the deck chairs in the Retreat area on the Observation deck available for use by people on that deck, or are they just for people buying cabana or the various spa packages?

HAHA! I know. I'm very critical when it comes to interior design, but overall the ship is stunning. I think I told you guys the rooms I don't care for, but you can't please everyone!
