Poker anyone? Eurodam is to feature the PokerPro Texas Hold’Em table

This Texas Hold‘Em dealer never gets tired, never misdeals and always keeps track of split pots. It’s called PokerPro, and it is a poker table with an inset touchscreen for each player.

PokerPro shuffles, deals, splits pots and generates side pots instantly. It’s manufacturer, PokerTek of North Carolina, claims it is the fastest and most accurate dealer in the world. Players can sign up for games on their own and will never again complain of a misdeal, accidentally mucked cards or incorrectly split pots.

You’ve got to know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em.

The Electronic Shuffler has been certified by Gaming Laboratories International as a mathematically random process with equal probability for each card. In addition to the Shuffler, PokerPro burns a card before each round of betting.

For players who are accustomed to online poker games, PokerPro provides an easy transtion from the computer to a live game. For beginners, the table removes the intimidation factor some might feel with a live dealer.

  1. I would be interested in hearing some comments from some of the players who have used this table. These tables have become extremely popular with Cruise Lines. I was recently going through a post on the Carnival Cruise line and soliciting some feedback. It seems like people liked it but would prefer to have a dealer. Needless to say that it was intuitive and easy to pick up.

  2. We have taken two cruises - Alaska and Mexico. On the 1st cruise we had a live poker dealer, the poker table was always full and we enjoyed meeting many people. On our 2nd cruise they had installed the electronic table. No one played it virtually the entire trip and we meet a lot less people. We will not be cruising again with Holland America unless they install a live poker table.

  3. I have taken a number of HAL cruises. I have played with both the electronic table and live dealer. I was on a cruise with a live dealer that we could almost never get a game. Sometimes it is just the people taking the cruise. It takes a while to get people used to the electronic table. Once they do, they come back again and the game goes much quicker. It took me a couple days to get used to it, but I now prefer it. Give it another chance.

  4. There is a completely different feel to a live game versus a video poker game. I can stay home and play video poker on my computer. We enjoyed the feel, conversation and banter of the live game and the point was not necessarily to see how fast we could or had to play.
