This photo of the Eurodam was taken in the shipyard on Aug. 10, 2007. You can see that superstructure is really beginning to take shape.

I am absolutely LOVING this picture if I haven’t mentioned it yet.
Two questions about the exterior…
The concept images used on the Mariner magazine and the website show RED lifeboats, not ORANGE like the rest of the fleet. Is this something that will actually happen? And if Eurodam’s are red, will the rest of the fleet’s change as well?
Second Question-
On the Vista Class ships, the forward deck area on Deck 4 is all open deck area and the spare anchor. The Eurodam has a “bump” that takes a lot of the space. What is the purpose of this area? It even appears there is a door to go into it.
Thanks!
Keep up the GREAT work on this blog everyone!

Thanks for the kind words, InTheWASide. Glad you enjoy the blog. We spoke to Pieter Rijkaart, who provided the answers to your questions.
Regarding Eurodam’s lifeboats, the color on the real ship will be the same as on the ships in service - orange on the top and white on the lower part.
As for the “bump” on the forward part of the ship, this area houses crew cabins and crew areas. The top of this area is passenger observation space and will be accessible from Forward Deck 5.
